Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the services provided by Loving Science Ltd (“we”, “us”, or “our”), including our website at lovingscience.com and all applications hosted on lovingscience.com and its subdomains (collectively, “the Services”). This includes, but is not limited to, Pan-Sci and any future applications we release.

By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

Loving Science Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17199550), with its registered office at 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX.

1. Your Account

To access certain features, you will need to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately at admin@lovingscience.com if you suspect any unauthorised use.

We use Clerk to manage authentication across our Services. By creating an account, you also agree to Clerk's terms of service.

2. Use of the Services

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Upload content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes third-party rights
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Services
  • Use the Services to generate misleading, fraudulent, or harmful scientific content
  • Share your account credentials with others or attempt to circumvent access controls
  • Use the Services in any way that could damage, overload, or impair our infrastructure

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against any violation of these terms, including suspension or termination of your account.

3. AI-Generated Content — Important Disclaimer

Our Services use artificial intelligence to analyse scientific content and generate outputs such as summaries, insights, and responses. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • AI outputs may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. They are provided for informational and research support purposes only and must be independently verified before being relied upon.
  • AI-generated content does not constitute professional scientific, medical, legal, or financial advice.
  • We are not liable for any decisions made, or losses incurred, on the basis of AI-generated outputs from the Services.
  • The accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any output is not guaranteed.

4. Your Content

Ownership

You retain full ownership of any content you upload to the Services, including PDFs, datasets, and scientific documents (“User Content”).

Licence to us

By uploading User Content, you grant Loving Science Ltd a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process, store, and analyse that content solely for the purpose of providing the Services to you. We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for any other purpose without your explicit consent.

Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content you submit. Do not upload content that is confidential, proprietary, or subject to restrictions that would prohibit its processing by our systems.

5. Paid Plans & Subscriptions

Some features within our Services require a paid subscription. Where applicable:

  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.
  • Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan selected).
  • Prices are displayed exclusive of VAT where applicable. VAT will be added at checkout in accordance with UK tax law.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not offer partial refunds for unused time unless required by law.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before any price change takes effect.

6. Suspension & Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services, with or without notice, if:

  • You breach these Terms
  • Your account is used for abusive, fraudulent, or harmful activity
  • A paid subscription lapses due to non-payment
  • We are required to do so by law

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at admin@lovingscience.com. Upon closure, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property in the Services — including our software, design, branding, and documentation — belongs to Loving Science Ltd or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or proprietary technology beyond what is necessary to use the Services.

8. Availability & Changes

We aim to keep the Services available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Loving Science Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Services, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or reliance on AI-generated outputs.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We will always try to resolve disputes informally first. If you have a concern, please contact us at admin@lovingscience.com before initiating formal proceedings.
